US military assets are headed for the Middle East amid reports that Donald Trump is strongly considering an attack on Iran.

Fox News said that military sources confirmed that at least one U.S. aircraft carrier is being moved toward the Middle East as tensions with Iran continue to build. According to Fox News, U.S. military assets from air, land and sea are expected to flow into the region in the coming days and weeks to provide the president with military options should he decide to carry out strikes against Iran, sources said.

This follows President Trump's repeated threats to intervene in support of protesters in Iran, where thousands are reported to have been killed in a brutal crackdown on demonstrations against clerical rule. Pro-Iranian regime demonstrators in Kargil displayed coffins with Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu's faces on them as tensions boil ahead of an expected American strike, and the Iranian state TV has aired a threat to kill Donald Trump as the President reportedly plans strikes on the US.

He previously also urged protesters to continue their demonstations as "help is on the way" amid reports that he was mulling military intervention.
