One bridge in the UK once held the title of being the busiest in the whole world, and it is still used by thousands every day. There are many bridges across the nation that people use in their daily lives, whether by car, on foot, or by train.

London certainly has its fair share, with many people easily commuting across the River Thames. One of the capital city's bridges claimed the title, and it isn't as well-known as the likes of Tower Bridge or Westminster Bridge. Grosvenor Railway Bridge became London's first train bridge and crosses the Thames.

It is also known as Victoria Railway Bridge and sits between Vauxhall Bridge and Chelsea Bridge. The historic bridge was constructed in 1860, but has seen many extensions.

In the 1860s, four more tracks were added to the bridge for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway as well as the London, Chatham and Dover Railway.

By the 1960s, Grosvenor Bridge was extensively rebuilt and widened again. Just the core of the original bridge remained as it was modernised.

The additions brought the total to 10 tracks across the bridge, and it became the world's busiest railway bridge. In 1968, there were 1,000 train crossings every day.

Today, the bridge remains one of the world's busiest, with over 200,000 passengers using it each day. It is almost double the width of the famous Westminster Bridge.

Grosvenor Bridge connects the north bank areas of Pimlico and Chelsea to the south bank, the London Boroughs of Wandsworth and Battersea. Trains run directly to Victoria Station and have done ever since it was built.

It has also been crowned the tenth busiest station in the UK, with 7,279 scheduled services per week according to Railway Data.

Currently, the Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne, Germany, is widely considered the world's busiest railway bridge. It handles over 1,200 trains each day and serves the city's main station.
