Phil Collins has admitted he has a live-in nurse to look after him following years of health issues. The Genesis frontman, who celebrated his 75th birthday in January, has faced a series of health setbacks over the years and has spoken openly about the toll they've taken on him.

He told BBC's Zoe Ball last month that it's an "ongoing thing", adding: "You know, I have a 24-hour live-in nurse to make sure I take my medication as I should do. I've had challenges with my knee, I had everything that could go wrong with me, did go wrong with me. I got Covid in hospital. My kidneys started to pack up. I've had five operations on my knee now. I've got a knee that works and I can walk, albeit with assistance, you know, crutches or whatever."

In a new BBC interview, the Against All Odds rocker gave an update on the mobility challenges he's faced, and was asked whether he might perform again.

He said: "I can't really see it happening. But I'm healthier than I have been for quite a while. As the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame asked me if I would perform, I said no.

"Because you've got to be match fit to do something like that. You can't just go on stage and, you're gonna rehearse, and by that point, if you've not been singing, your voice is gonna be shot, and that's not gonna be good. So I'd rather not do it. But whether I would go out again, I could contemplate."

The last time he performed on stage was in March 2022, when he reunited with his band, Genesis, for a farewell concert at London's 02 Arena.

But that does not stop Phil from making new songs if his health permits.

"I'm constantly saying to myself, I gotta go back down into my studio at home. I've got lots of lyrical ideas," he told reporter Charlotte Gallagher.

"When I look back, I've lived a charmed life, you know? I've really enjoyed most of it, 99% of it."
