Meghan Markle has been “desperate” for an invitation to Taylor Swift’s wedding, but her name “was nowhere to be found,” reports have claimed. The beloved US megastar and her husband-to-be, Travis Kelce, are reportedly hosting a massive wedding celebration on Friday, July 3.

While the exact location of the highly anticipated ceremony has not been confirmed yet, the wedding guest list is finalised. According to celebrity journalist Rob Shutter, the Duchess of Sussex was more than eager to be invited to the Hollywood wedding of the year, but the US popstar wants to keep a distance. A source told Mr Shutter on his Substack: “This was never just about attending a wedding.

“For Meghan, it was about getting closer to Taylor. Right now, nobody has more cultural influence than Taylor Swift, and Meghan has wanted that connection for years.”

Meghan’s interest in Taylor Swift dates back years.

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly wanted to feature the singer on an episode of her Archetypes podcast on Spotify, but was unable to secure her appearance.

A source said: “Taylor was the one Meghan wanted most. More than any other celebrity, she saw Taylor as someone who could elevate her status and open doors.”

They added: “Meghan has always been drawn to powerful people. Throughout her career, she’s gravitated toward influential figures and high-profile circles. Taylor became the ultimate prize.”

But according to the journalist, Taylor is “famously selective” about who enters her inner circle, and the duchess is not one of them.

A source said: “Taylor values loyalty and genuine relationships.

“If she senses someone is interested in access rather than authentic friendship, she keeps her distance.”

The source said about Meghan: “She desperately wanted an invitation.

“The missing invitation told Meghan everything she needed to know. Taylor made her choice—and Meghan wasn’t part of it.”
