
The UK has been hit with power cuts as scorching high temperatures begin and extreme heat alerts are in place.
Households in Bristol, Birmingham and Leicester have already had their power impacted by the severe weather.
National Grid have issued a hot weather alert, in which they claim "teams are ready around the clock, and if your power goes off, we will work to get it back on as safely and as quickly as we can," during the sweltering spell.
In Bristol, alongside the heat thunderstorms have caused chaos, with homes on fire after being struck by lightning.
The Met Office have issued power cut warnings to 71 areas across the UK on Tuesday, with more areas expected to be impacted the following days.
