Amazon Prime Day is finally here (running until June 26), and with summer in full swing, it's a great time to start thinking about upgrading your luggage before heading off on your next adventure.
I've been a fan of Antler's luggage range for quite a while now. Not only do the suitcases look the part, with their sleek matte finish, smooth 360-degree spinner wheels and range of eye-catching colours (the Antler green is my personal favourite), but they also come with a lifetime warranty for extra peace of mind. They are admittedly a bit more of a splurge than the average suitcase you might pick up elsewhere, but in my experience, the quality and longevity more than justify the investment.
Even better, shoppers can currently save 30% on the brand's Single Stripe cabin bag, which reviewers have described as being "perfect for a weekend trip or a Ryanair or easyJet flight".
There is one catch, though. Because the deal is part of Amazon Prime Day, only Prime members can access the discount. The good news is that you can sign up for an Amazon Prime account and take advantage of a 30-day free trial.
Usually priced at £170, the suitcase has dropped to just £119 as part of the sale. One of its biggest selling points is its impressively lightweight design. Despite being a hard-shell case, it weighs just 2.6kg when empty. I own this exact suitcase in the large size, which weighs 4.2kg, and I'm still surprised by how easy it is to lift on and off a baggage carousel.
The cabin version is, of course, more compact, measuring 55 x 40 x 20cm. That makes it ideal as free hand luggage with Jet2 and British Airways. It also meets the size requirements for Ryanair Priority (a maximum of 55 x 40 x 20cm) and easyJet's additional cabin bag allowance (a maximum of 56 x 45 x 25cm), although it doesn't qualify as free hand luggage with either airline.
Inside, the double-sided Single Stripe suitcase has a stylish taupe lining that feels every bit as premium as the exterior. There's a handy side pocket, a zip-up mesh divider and packing straps to help keep everything neatly in place while travelling. Having multiple compartments rather than one large open space is a real bonus when you're trying to stay organised on the move.
For added security, there's also a built-in TSA-approved combination lock. And, like all Antler luggage, it comes with a lifetime warranty (just remember to register your case).
In a review, one shopper said: "Got it on sale and it’s absolutely worth it. I’ve only bought Antler suitcases for the past ten years as I believe they’re worth the price! If you can afford them, definitely invest. It’s sturdy and so smooth due to the 360-degree 4 wheels."
Another added: "Best bit of kit I've ever bought. Fits in with every airline's requirements and has as much room as it can. Quality is spot on. Defo recommend. Not cheap, but lifetime guarantee helps" [SIC]
However, one shopper noted: "The plastic shell could have been a little thicker for added strength due to being mishandled by baggage handlers, but it is a carry-on bag that is big enough."
