George seemed delighted to tag along with his mum, in what marks his second engagement with Princess Catherine. The soon-to-be teenager also dressed perfectly for a young royal, wearing a shirt and blazer with suit trousers. On the visit, George and Catherine took it in turns to sit in the pilot seat of an aircraft at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

As well as a new video of the surprise engagement, a photograph was also shared of George and Princess Catherine in front of the aircraft standing side-by-side.

The mother-and-son smiled at the camera with their arms around one another, with Catherine also sporting a smart look.

The photograph has got many fans talking on X, with many commenting on how the 12-year-old is now practically the same height as his proud mum.

One fan wrote: “He is almost as tall as his mother (without her heels!)”

Another said: “What!?!? He’s that tall already? Wow.”

Someone else commented: “George is as tall as Catherine by the shoulders. Beautiful photo.”

Another fan wrote: “Lovely, he’s nearly as tall as his Mum.”

It is believed it was just Princess Catherine and Prince George on this particular visit to the RAF base.

Sharing a video of the trip online, Kensington Palace also released a statement which read: “Honouring Service and Sacrifice. Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby.

“Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive. A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.”
