Prepare the strawberries and thank the heavens the heatwave is over as the glory that is Wimbledon has finally arrived. Fans flocked to the All England Club on Monday for the opening day of the 2026 tournament, with defending men's champion Jannik Sinner beginning his title defence on Centre Court against Miomir Kecmanovic. Novak Djokovic, Aryna Sabalenka and a host of the sport's biggest names were also in action as another fortnight of tennis got underway.
As ever, the Royal Box welcomed a star-studded line-up of famous faces eager to soak up the opening day's action.
Leading the celebrity arrivals was Sir David Beckham, who was accompanied by his mother, Sandra Beckham. The football icon's appearance comes as he continues to make headlines over reports of an ongoing rift with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham. The 51-year-old looked dapper in a grey, double-breasted suit, white shirt and camel coloured tie. In one pic, Classic FM host Alexander Armstrong could also be seen sitting behind him.
Also getting into the swing of things was newly separated Tess Daly, who attended with her close friend and business partner Gayle Lawton. Looking stunning in a tennis white fitted dress, Tess beamed for the cameras as she posed outside Centre Court.
Celebrity chef Dame Mary Berry was another familiar face in attendance in a pale pink dress, while former One Direction star Niall Horan and Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig and his wife Lauren also checked out the famous competition.
Former BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, who left the broadcaster earlier this year after almost three decades, was spotted enjoying the opening day's play with husband Steve Randall.
Also in attendance was S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens, who wore a black off-the-shoulder dress with a large cream print and raffia clutch bag.
Singing sensation Katherine Jenkins, 46, looked incredible in a white dress with bright blue dots, while Amanda Holden opted for a fitted pinstripe dress with thick black straps and oversized shades.
Taking the tennis theme and running with it enthusiastically was former Love Island star Maura Higgins, who styled a white mini dress with white heels featuring faux green tennis balls.
Presenter AJ Odudu looked incredible in a pale yellow dress at the famous South-west London venue, along with singer Ronan Keating and his wife Storm Keating.
The royal Box, which has hosted invited guests since 1922, remains one of the most exclusive seats in British sport, welcoming members of the royal family, sporting legends and celebrities throughout the Championships. It has only 74 seats, so tickets are extremely limited.
