As the UK recovers from an uncomfortable heatwave which saw record-breaking temperatures for June, more hot weather is expected in July. Conditions got so hot that the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) had to issue a red heat warning, meaning there was a risk to health for the general population during the scorching spell. While Brits have been enjoying the relief of lower temperatures over the past few days, they should expect more hot weather.

The latest weather maps from WXCharts show scorching temperatures for many parts of the UK, namely England, towards the middle of July. Wednesday, July 8, appears to be a particularly hot day, with temperatures reaching 32C in some areas, based on current projections. Meanwhile, the Met Office has said the UK could experience higher-than-usual temperatures in July, along with the rest of Europe, where intense heat is being recorded in tourist hotspots.

According to WXCharts, areas in the south and east of England will be the hottest on Wednesday, July 8. This includes Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and Greater London.

The hottest counties on July 8, where weather maps turn red with conditions between 26C and 32C, are:

It has also been said that high pressure patterns mean "a greater chance of settled and drier than average conditions" next month. For mid-July, it also warns of potential "changeable or unsettled conditions" with a risk of "heavy and thundery showers".

The Met Office's forecast for July 10 onwards says: "Temperatures are likely to be above normal on the whole, with a greater than normal chance of hot conditions developing at times."

Meanwhile, Lloyd's Register Foundation's annual World Risk Poll, for which global analytics firm Gallup surveyed 143,000 people across 140 countries, revealed that the number of people around the world who consider climate change a 'very' or 'somewhat' serious threat to individuals in their nation has climbed to three-quarters (75%) for the first time as temperatures rise across Europe.
