Beloved musician and singer Tariq Tafu has died at the age of 58. The renowned Pakistani star suffered a sudden and severe stomach ache which saw him admitted to a private hospital, where he had a sudden deterioration in his and died. The star was most famous for his global hit song Lahore Lahore Aye. It became his signature track and helped establish him as a recognisable name on the music scene.
The star came from a prominent musical family, His father was legendary music composer and tabla maestro Ustad Tafu, who died in October 2024. His brother is composer and Tabla maestro Ustad Wajid Tafu. Meanwhile his wife's father is the iconic ghazal singer Ustad Ghulam Ali while his brother in law is the singer Shabnam Majeed. Tariq also mentored and supported many up and coming singers throughout his career and was an advocate for new voices in the industry.
