easyJet has confirmed a '24-hour rule' that can save passengers money on their holidays. While some customers may be unaware of the policy, it could prove a handy way to cut costs.
Replying to a passenger on social media, the travel firm highlighted that it offers a 'Best Price Guarantee.' In a post on X, a customer contacted @easyJetholidays to enquire about price changes they'd spotted ahead of making a booking.
In response, a member of the airline's social media team revealed that passengers can receive a discount if they find the same holiday at a lower price within 24 hours of booking, reports the Mirror.
In the post, the team member said: "Hello Amy, thanks for getting in touch. If you find the same holiday for less within 24 hours of booking with us, we'll beat it. Plus, we’ll give £5 additional discount per person (excluding infants/free children). - Dan."
easyJet offers more information online. The website explains: "At easyJet holidays, we’re so confident in our great value holidays that if you find the same holiday cheaper elsewhere within 24 hours of booking, we’ll beat it.
"We’ll apply a discount to the price of your easyJet holidays booking to cover the difference, plus we’ll give you an additional £5 per person discount, excluding infants and free children – meaning you can book with confidence that you’ll always get the best value with us. It's all part of our ultimate flexibility.
"Once you’ve booked, if you think you’ve found the same holiday, including all the extras such as 23kg luggage on beach holidays, cheaper elsewhere that meets the criteria, send us the details on this page and we’ll be in touch."
On the website, easyJet said it uses dynamic pricing when selling tickets. The travel firm says: "Prices typically start low and increase as fewer seats become available. As the flight fills up, the price often increases to manage the remaining supply.
"The airline uses algorithms that analyse historical data and current booking trends to set the optimum price to fill the flight. This efficiency helps keep costs low, allowing easyJet to offer lower fares to more people. In fact, over a third of easyJet's flights are on sale for less than £50."
easyJet also offers guidance for passengers seeking the lowest fares. Customers are encouraged to 'book early' and 'be flexible'. The airline also advises passengers to check in early. The website said: "Families hoping to sit together for free should check in as early as possible (up to 30 days before departure) to give the system the best chance of allocating seats together."
