Greggs is giving away tens of thousands of bakes in the hours leading up to England's match against DR Congo in the knockout stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. To mark the mark the occasion, the bakery chain is launching a pre-match giveaway today (Wednesday, July 1) with more than 40,000 free bakes up for grabs when customers buy any iced drink.
Between 3pm and 5pm, customers who buy any iced drink, from the new Blueberry Matcha to Cherry Lemonade or an Iced Vanilla Latte, can get a bake on the side at no extra cost. Bakes included in the offer include their Sausage Roll, the new Chicken Roll, the golden Steak Bake and their Red Pepper & Feta Bake. However, it noted that the offer is only available while stocks last.
Zoe Harris, Customer Director at Greggs, said: “Move over hydration breaks, it’s time for hydration bakes!
"With over 40,000 bakes up for grabs when customers purchase one of our refreshing iced drinks, we’re giving fans a break they can actually get behind as they gear up for kick-off.”
Full details of the promotion can be found below.
The game will kick off at 5pm BST in Atlanta as Thomas Tuchel's men eye a place in the last 16.
The winners will face co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
However, if England do progress, fans may have to set a few alarms as the game will kick off at 1am on Monday, July 6.
You can watch tonight's match live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport Website.
